The New York state Legislature, dominated by Democrats, adopted a congressional district map Wednesday that significantly shifts Ulster County municipalities in the 18th and 19th districts.
Democrats made U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro’s 19th district more competitive, ignoring proposed changes by the state’s bipartisan redistricting commission that would have helped the GOP incumbent.
The maps were adopted after the Democrat-led state Legislature rejected the bipartisan Independent Redistricting Commission map on Monday.
