Hurley GOP Sets Caucus - by Staff Kingston Wire
Almost a month to the day after the Democratic primary determined that party’s slate for fall town elections, Hurley Republicans will caucus to pick theirs.
According to a notice submitted to the Ulster County Board of Elections last week, the Republican caucus will be Wednesday, July 26, at 5 p.m. at West Hurley Park.
If the party decides to put up a candidate for town supervisor, that person will enter what is looking like a three-way race. On June 27, incumbent Town Supervisor Melinda McKnight beat challenger Mike Boms, who’s also on the town board. Boms has said he will run for supervisor on the bespoke-party line of Keep Hurley Hurley. Incumbents Peter Humphries and Gregory Simpson will be the Democrats’ candidates for two open seats on the town board.
