Judy Mayhon 1953-2023, Longtime Town of Hurley Clerk

The Town of Hurley is deeply saddened to report the passing of longtime Town Clerk Judy Mayhon.

Judy, 70, died on Friday, June 2, 2023, after an illness.

Judy first was elected Town Clerk in November 2007 and was re-elected every two years after that through November 2021. She previously worked as a Deputy Town Clerk. She was involved in many Hurley activities including the creation of the Senior Soup Day on Wednesday which is enjoyed by many.

"I am so sorry to learn of Judy's passing," Hurley Supervisor Melinda McKnight said. "Throughout her years in public service, she served the Town and its residents with dedication. I, the Town Board and the staff send her family our deepest condolences."

Funeral arrangements are by the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. The wake and funeral service for Judy tentatively are scheduled for Sunday, June 11. Details, and complete obituary information, will be posted here as soon as they become available.
