McKnight Defeats Boms in Dem Primary

(From Kingston Wire)

Incumbent Hurley Town Supervisor turned back a primary challenge Tuesday, beating Councilman Mike Boms 353-234 in the race for the Democratic line for supervisor in this fall’s general election.

In other Hurley Democratic primaries, Annie Reed beat Tracey Kellogg 300-287 for the town clerk nomination. And Gregory Simpson and Peter Humphries will run for town board on the Democratic line, while Diana Cline finished out of the running. The vote totals: Simpson, 363; Humphries, 322; and Cline 320.

All results are unofficial, pending certification by the Board of Elections. The above totals include absentee ballots and early voting.

Hurley Republicans have yet to formally decide on their slate; they have until July 27 to do so. Boms, Kellogg and Cline will all appear on the November ballot on the Keep Hurley Hurley line unless, according to BOE Commissioner Ashley Torres, candidates file a certificate of declination.
