Third Annual Capital to Capital 5K Run/Walk October 20, 2024

Capital to Capital 5K commemorates the Burning of Kingston, when, in October 1777, over 2,000 Kingston refugees fled to the Town of Hurley

The Rotary Club of Kingston, NY is sponsoring its Third Capital to Capital 5K run/walk this fall to raise money and awareness for veterans in need of service dogs. The “Cap 2 Cap” is a hybrid 5K, which allows participants to join either virtually or in person.

F  In-Person participants will walk or run along the new segment of the O&W rail trail from Uptown Kingston to School House Lane in Hurley.

F  Virtual participants can walk or run a 5 km (3.1 mi) distance on a trail or park in their hometown or elsewhere, anytime between Thursday, Oct. 3rd and Sunday, Oct. 20th.

F  There will be two youth events (0.5 mile and 1 mile) prior to the 5K.

F  All participants can self-register at zippyreg.com/register/captocap.

Entry Fees & Awards:

F  Children 12 & under: Free

F  Adults: $25

F  Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers.

F  Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in all age groups.

F  The first 100 registrants will receive a hand-crafted C2C 5K medallion.

F  To receive an official finisher's certificate, entrants must log their time on Zippyreg.com no later than Sunday, Oct. 20th 2024 by 11:59 PM.

Schedule of events:

 9:00           Check-In and late registration will begin at the Reis Group Insurance parking lot at 475 Washington Ave. in Kingston.

 9:45           Youth races begin (0.5 mile and 1 mile)

 10:00         Capital to Capital 5K begins

  11:00         Awards Ceremony at Hurley Heritage Museum

UCAT will provide bus service from Hurley back to Kingston beginning at 11 AM
