VOLUNTEER FOR THE ASHOKAN RAIL TRAIL

We are looking for additional volunteers to become Trail Stewards on the Ashokan Rail Trail. Stewards are asked to volunteer for three hour shifts on peak weekends and holidays from spring to fall. Stewards are scheduled for shifts to greet visitors at the trailhead areas or patrol the trail by bicycle in order to ensure that trail users understand and respect the unique rules for the trail, which is immediately adjacent to sensitive areas along the Ashokan Reservoir. Stewards also help to provide information about the trail and local area and report maintenance issues to Ulster County quickly so that they can be addressed.
