Is It Time Hurley Considers Special Tax Districts for Paid Emergency Personal? - by Daily Freeman

Too many emergency medical calls are being handled by too few volunteers in town fire departments, fire officials said, leading them to begin considering whether it’s time to establish tax districts for paid personnel.

The concerns were raised by West Hurley Fire Department EMS Lt. Kent Fitzgerald and Hurley Fire Department Assistant Chief Conner Dugan during a town board meeting on Tuesday.
