Town hires Zoning Enforcement Officer

The Hurley Town Board has approved hiring Tom Tryon to fill the newly created full-time position of town Zoning Enforcement Officer.

Tryon’s hiring was approved unanimously by the board at its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022. Just prior to the vote, the board unanimously approved creating the position.

Tryon’s start date is Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

Tryon, 34, most recently served as Fire Inspector for the city of Kingston, NY, a position he assumed in September 2021.

Tryon was Assistant Building Inspector for the town of Bethlehem, NY, in Albany County, from July 2019 to September 2021. He was a Water Maintenance Technician for Bethlehem from May 2013 to July 2019. 

Tryon previously worked as a US Border Patrol agent in Arizona.

Tryon lives in Rosendale, NY. His salary as Hurley Zoning Enforcement Officer will be $60,000 per year.
